Camera inspection can reveal roots, offsets, cracks, buildup and other visible conditions. Locating helps pinpoint where the camera head is underground so repair decisions can be made around the actual site.
Excavation should follow diagnosis whenever possible. Knowing where the problem is—and roughly how deep—changes how access, equipment and restoration should be planned.
A sewer camera shows visible conditions inside the accessible portion of the line. It does not make every defect or buried condition visible.
Locating uses the camera head or transmitter signal to estimate where the line or defect is positioned underground.
A location and depth estimate help plan access and avoid opening more ground than the repair requires.
